Yet thousands of talented applicants overlook government careers—or become discouraged by applications, supplemental questions, Statements of Qualifications, exams, and unfamiliar hiring processes.
The opportunity is there, but the pathway isn’t always obvious.

A note from our founder

I created Gov Job Pathways to help people discover the many career options available in public service. After years of working in local and state government, I realized that many exceptionally qualified people never pursue government careers because they assume the process is too complicated, too competitive, or simply isn’t meant for them.
Government hiring is different. It has its own language, timelines and expectations. From the outside, it can seem confusing or intimidating. But once you understand how the system works, it becomes much easier to navigate with confidence.
My goal is to build the kind of resource I wish I had when I first started exploring public service—a place where you can learn, ask questions, build your confidence, and move forward one step at a time. Whether you’re exploring your first government career, changing professions, or looking for your next opportunity, I hope this website helps you find your path.
